Hello Mr. Azriel in the part of domestic policy and affairs you mentioned: discuss the national politics, what are you refering to? THANKS :)
ReplyDeleteMr Azriel how can we know to which committee we belong to?
ReplyDeleteFor the "DOMESTIC POLICY AND AFFAIRS" section in your first position paper, you are going to want to describe in more detail what the political role of women is and has been in your country. For example, you may talk about when women were granted the right to vote, which women political leaders have existed in your country, or some major contributions that women have made through politics in your country. These are just a few examples. There are many more things you can write about, but it all depends on your specific country.
ReplyDeleteOne thing you should note is that this would NOT be the section to talk about participation in UN or EU initiatives because those are INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS. This aspects belong in the next section of your essay.
For the committee name, you can go ahead and put "UN Women".
ReplyDeleteHere is a link on this committee. It contains some information that you might find helpful when writing your position paper:
http://www.unwomen.org/en
This is especially useful for the "international policy and affairs" section!
DeleteYou already know what the four sections of the position paper are, but don't forget that everything you include should relate to the topic and your country! For instance, when you are introducing your country and topic in the first paragraph, you SHOULD NOT include irrelevant facts such as when your country was founded or the year that it entered the UN. You SHOULD, however, introduce the importance of the topic and explain your country's stance on the issue.
ReplyDeleteUse the sample position papers on this blog site and the ones on the RED EDUCATIVA DEL IES DOCTOR MARAÑÓN Global Classrooms group to have a better idea of what this looks like.
DeleteHello Mr.Azriel, is necessary to incluide all the information that you asked in evey part of the position paper? We can't find much information about some issues.
ReplyDeleteThanks
The simple answer to your question is YES. You need to include all four sections in your position paper. Now, if you have a more specific question or tell me what information you are having trouble finding, then I can help you out a little more.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the answer, but im refering to the sub sections in each section for example, the participation of our country on an international level (in section 3, international community) . We are having troubles to find information about section 3
DeleteThanks

Remember, you will use this section to discuss your country's involvement in international policy and affairs. This includes international conferences that your country has attended, organizations that they have supported, or committees that they have joined (as they relate to the political role of women). Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck!
