Questions for Opening Speech

Do not forget to have these questions answered for next week. Each question should be answered with about 3-4 sentences. If you do this, then writing your opening speech will be very easy.

1. Why is the political role of women important to the United Nations (and to the world in general)?
2. Why is the political role of women important to your country, specifically?
3. What are the statistics that illustrate the problem in your country?
4. How does the issue of the political role of women affect your country?
5. What are the actions your country has taken on a nation level to address the problem?

6. What are the actions your country has taken on an international level to address the problem?

7. What are the recommendations for the committee, which will be what you want to see in the resolutions at the end of the debate?

  1. When we answer the questions, do we have to wait until you say us to do the opening speech? Are we going to do it in class or we have to do it with the questions?

  2. Hey, it´s Mr. Azriel. You do not have to make the opening speech yet. We will be doing that in class next time we meet. Just make sure that you have all the questions answered with 3-4 sentences for each question.

  7. Please answer all the questions the best you can. I am sure the answers are out there if you put more effort into the assignment. When we meet in class I will go over the answers with you and try to help you out anyway that I can.
You may handwrite or type the answers on the computer. I do not have a preference.
For question 3, you do not need to put a graph. Simply stating the most important AND RELEVANT statistics is enough.
